 Michael J. O’Connor, D.C., D.A.B.C.O.
Chiropractic Orthopedist
Dr. O’Connor has been a practicing chiropractor and an educator for 25 years. He moved to upstate NY in 1991 to become the chairman of the Radiology Department and then later the Director of the Diagnosis and Clinical Practice Department at New York Chiropractic College.
Dr. O’Connor is a Board Certified Chiropractic Orthopedist, and also has certifications in Sports Medicine and Disability and Impairment. He specializes in the conservative treatment of neuromusculoskeletal problems, which includes back pain, neck pain, headache and disc problems.
Dr. O’Connor has added a new procedure for the detection and treatment of scar tissue or adhesions in muscles, tendons and ligaments that can lead to pain, weakness, and functional limitation. This instrumented technique can be used to "break-up" these restrictions or adhesions. Exercises are then used to promote realignment of the fibers so they can behave more like normal, healthy tissue.
