Energy Medicine Practitioners

Kim Santamaria, RN, BSN
Energy Nurse Specialist
Healing Touch Practitioner
Certified Reiki Master
In 2004, Kim Santamaria was invited to travel with a client to Switzerland and was offered the opportunity to join the staff there as an Energy Nurse Healer. She chose to decline, as she had a vision and goal of integrating energy medicine into Western medicine in the United States. Kim has been at Clifton Springs Hosptital & Clinic since 2005 as a Nurse Manager in the Nursing Home, and in 2007 joined The Springs in her current role. While working in the Nursing Home, she recognized that this hospital would support her vision and goal, and she included energy medicine therapies in the care of the residents and brought the experience and understanding of the wonderful effects of these therapies to the attention of other professionals in the hospital. She has experience incorporating energy medicine into several medical settings and has done many lectures and workshops. Kim is available to provide Reiki and Healing Touch for any patient in the hospital system or for private sessions at The Springs.

Charlotte A. Wytias, RN, MS, FNP
Program Manager, The Springs
Charlotte knew from the time she was nine years old that nursing was the career she was to follow.  She attended DePauw University in Greencastle, IN and received her BS in Nursing.  Her undergraduate program taught her about healing and helping others and the importance of relationships and communication for healing.  She also recognized the importance of touch for healing, so when she was in her graduate program earning her MS in Nursing, and Family Nurse Practitioner training and heard Dr. Dolores Kreiger, PhD, RN speak about Therapeutic Touch (TT), an energy therapy, she knew she was on her path.  Developing a curriculum based on the theories of TT, she and a colleague began teaching other nurses how to use their hands to feel the energy of another human being and then to modulate, change that energy through various means, to bring the body’s energy field into balance so it would be in better stead to heal.

This introduction into non-Western therapies launched her into a new career in which she brought her understandings to Clifton Springs Hospital just as the Integrated Health Committee was preparing to start The Springs.  She took the vision and the work the Committee had done and brought the vision to reality.

The vision of the Committee was to re-create the world-class healing center, incorporating the mineral springs Dr. Henry Foster created in 1850.  Charlotte continues to work with the rest of the hospital to integrate the therapies of the Springs to enhance the hospital’s goal of treating body, mind and spirit.

Janice McNamara has a Bachelors Degree in Nursing, and is a Reiki Master Teacher and Associate Polarity Practitioner.  She currently teaches Reiki and advanced energy techniques.  She uses the modalities of Reiki, Polarity, Guided Imagery, Past Live Regression, and Inner Child work as a way to consider all aspects of life in the healing process.
